I have this beautiful painting of my childhood home. My friend hand painted it. With her hands. I mean she used a brush. But used her hand to hold it. Now I am confused. Do you say hand painted or just painted? Anyway, I love it. After my friend painted it, my roommate at the time suggested that I call the painting, “Moving Martha.” A take on Reba McEntire’s song, “Moving Oleta.” Have you heard the song? Go read the lyrics. They hit more than close to home. It was a perfect name. Because we were going to have to move her. She was in the beginning stages of Alzheimers. There are so many memories in that painting. She did a damn good job.
