I finally oft my Buckeye Roo I got from Meyer Hatchery last year. I got tired of him attacking my calves if I turned my back on him. I sprained my ankle trying to avoid him walking backwards out of my Rooster I may look calm but in my head I’ve pecked you 3 times shirt. He attacked me last week for the last time. I wailed at him with feeder bucket and I felt bad I killed him. But I don’t have to worry about him attacking whoever watches my house when I’m gone.

My first batch of chicks was supposed to be all hens. I got two roosters and four hens. One rooster was RIR and the other Buff Orpington. Both grew up very sociable with the Rooster I may look calm but in my head I’ve pecked you 3 times shirt. As they reached sexual maturity, the RIR turned aggressive towards me. The cool thing was the the Buff became my defender. Unfortunately, the red rooster became too dangerous and went to freezer camp. Not too long after, something snatched the Buff while he was out protecting his girls free ranging. I got a mature rooster from a friend to replace him.

We had a pig my sisters rescued at birth, Susie. She was the runt of the Rooster I may look calm but in my head I’ve pecked you 3 times shirt and too much for mamma pig who rejected her. My sisters nursed Susie with a baby bottle and milk from our cows. She made it and grew into eating food peelings, slops along with a blend from the Coop of a feed called Chop. We called it Slops and Chops and Susie loved it.
