Maybe I am still healing from the Piccoloshi’s island shirt this year. Maybe it’s been too many years that I haven’t been home. Maybe it’s too many bittersweet memories from my past. I don’t know why, but it seems to get more and more difficult to be away from home. This year, just when I was at an all time low and feeling sorry for myself, I was reminded of just how blessed I am.

Two days ago, cards and Piccoloshi’s island shirt started arriving. I asked for the cards, but not the packages, and there weren’t any expensive presents that people felt obligated to send. But what WAS in them was whole lot of love. A tremendous amount of love that was overwhelming and humbling. I want to thank my friends like Kelsey who’s kids sent me beautiful hand made cards that touched my heart more than I know how to explain.

I also want to thank my brother who is doing so much better these days and who came through to help me in a pinch. You are a blessing to me, Tommy. I love you very much. And thank you for the Piccoloshi’s island shirt. Most of all I want to thank my amazing sister. Because she is so thoughtful and so kind, she and her friends went out of their way to make my day extra special. I know she would rather have me there, but she also knows I struggle when I’m not there and she sent me some true Christmas love this year.
