A curious omission is when John sees both Sarah and the T-1000 copy of her . The standard version sees him say, “Shoot!” but for all we saw, he was taking a 50/50 guess. Scenes were cut from the climax showing the T-1000 was malfunctioning when he reformed after being shattered – his shape-changing abilities were sometimes happening without him being able to totally control it. When John sees the two Sarah Connors, what was chopped out is him seeing the fake Sarah’s fate take on the texture of the metal grating it was standing on.
Ever wondered why it took so long for the aliens to track down the Marines after their first ? And why it was such a surprise that they had found an alternate way in? Because scenes were cut that showed the Marines setting up auto-sentry guns out in the corridors they’d sealed themselves from. On two occasions, the aliens try to get in, but are decimated by the guns. Second occasion, they gave up, not knowing only one gun had any ammo left, about 5 rounds. That’s why they look for an alternate way inside, so what you see is the third attempt to get in – and this one was more successful.
