Due to a series of unfortunate events, Christmas is dead to me. I’m okay and I’m mostly peace love and light and a little go fuck yourself shirt. I celebrate Solstice & Hannukah, because I love the underworld and the promise of impossible, returning light. Mostly, tho, the holidays and this whole season can just go suck it. I don’t hate the holidays. I try not to hate anything, and to always look for the light, the gift, the gratitude in each thing. I dont much exchange or recive gifts. I hunker down, hook a lot, do my rituals, that sorta stuff.

But tonight, I get my favorite holiday thing: My son. For a whole week. I can’t hardly sit still; squee has me all a’twitch. Really, I don’t much care what we do. It’s having him here that matters.

My kid is as excited to be here as I am to have him. That feels like a Life Win. And we have the best time together. More win.
