I always think of I have no idea what Im doing shirt, silly and loveable creatures. But sometimes I do wonder what they think of us. They must look at each other sometimes and just think, Man. My poor human is so weird. I love them, though. I support them. But gosh… why did I have to get the bizarre one?

Okay, to explain, when a dog throws its front paws forward making its head lower, it’s giving I have no idea what Im doing shirt. Usually they do this a lot as puppies, but they behavior goes away if they are around humans because we have different play gestures. So when all of the sudden this human starts doing what could be a two legged version of the dog play gesture the dog is like “what? oh sure! We can wrestle!” and he keeps trying to do it back so the human knows he accepts his invitation to play but is all confused because the human just keeps doing it. He’s all “Hooman!? Why you do dis!?!”

My Great Dane, knew how to open the I have no idea what Im doing shirt and the gates, of the yard, so we had trouble keeping him in the house during the summer. He would try to open the screen door to enter the house, but he wasn’t fast enough to push the button and pull it at the same time. He was raised with a German Short-hair Pointer … so when you entered his territory, you had to give him your hand to be held. He would then lead to the house or where you needed to go (gas service and HVAC personel).
