FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Razorbacks are off to a strong start this year, topping the Southeastern Conference and claiming No. 12 overall in the initial 2024-25 Learfield Directors’ Cup Fall Standings, released Monday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). With 206 points, Arkansas is one of only two SEC programs to rank in the top 25, alongside Texas at No. 16.

The fall standings account for men’s and women’s cross country, women’s field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, and men’s water polo. FBS football points will be added after the bowl season, with final standings set for January 23, 2025.

Arkansas continues a remarkable streak of excellence, marking the first time in school history that the Razorbacks have finished in the top 20 nationally for four consecutive years. Last year, Arkansas finished No. 18, following a No. 13 finish in 2022-23, No. 7 in 2021-22, and No. 8 in 2020-21.

Over the past seven years, the Razorbacks have amassed eight NCAA titles and 37 SEC team championships, including 19 conference titles in the last four seasons — the most of any SEC program. In fact, their 37 titles exceed the combined total of six other league programs in the same span.

Standout performances in cross country fueled much of the early success. The men’s team earned its first top-five national finish of the year, taking third place at the NCAA Championships. Three Razorbacks earned All-America honors, giving coach Chris Bucknam’s squad 85 Directors’ Cup points. On the women’s side, sophomore Paityn Noe led the team to a No. 17 finish nationally, crossing the line seventh individually and earning All-America recognition, contributing 57 points.

Soccer also continued to shine. Arkansas earned a No. 2 seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, hosted three rounds of postseason action at Razorback Field, and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the fourth time in program history. Coach Colby Hale’s squad collected 64 points toward the Directors’ Cup standings.

Since 1993-94, the Learfield Directors’ Cup has tracked the nation’s most successful intercollegiate athletic programs across all sports, recognizing excellence not just on the field but across every arena of competition. With their strong fall performances, the Razorbacks are setting the stage for another historic year in Fayetteville.
