This July, the Cincinnati Reds are teaming up once again with the University of Cincinnati’s Hoxworth Blood Center to encourage fans to roll up their sleeves, donate blood, and help save lives — all while scoring exclusive Reds gear and even free game tickets.
Throughout the month, all blood and platelet donors at any of Hoxworth’s seven Neighborhood Donor Centers or select mobile blood drives will receive a limited-edition Cincinnati Reds Ringer T-shirt as a thank-you gift. But that’s just the beginning — several special events and promotions are lined up to make giving even more rewarding.
Key July Donation Events & Rewards:
- July 3 – Reds Blood Drive at Great American Ball Park (11 a.m.–5 p.m.): Donors receive a voucher for a pair of Reds tickets, a Reds hat, and the exclusive Ringer T-shirt.
- July 4 – Independence Day Bonus: Neighborhood Donor Center participants will get an extra ticket voucher on top of their Reds T-shirt.
- July 1–31 – First-Time Donor Giveaway: New donors in July are automatically entered to win a pair of Reds tickets for a game of their choice. Forty winners will be selected.
“Summer in Cincinnati means baseball, and our Reds fans have always been incredible supporters of Hoxworth,” said David Oh, interim co-director and chief medical officer at Hoxworth. “Their donations make a real difference during a time of year when blood supplies often dip, but the need remains constant.”
The partnership between Hoxworth and the Reds spans decades, resulting in thousands of life-saving donations for more than 30 hospitals in the Greater Cincinnati region. Even during summer vacation season, the need for blood never takes a break. Every day, over 400 donors are required to meet the demand for patients undergoing surgery, battling cancer, recovering from trauma, or facing other critical conditions.
