Observant Jews don’t celebrate Christmas. But those of us who are secular may or may not. My dad left when I was six. A couple of years after that he moved back into NY and my brother and I would go World’s Greatest Tutu American Grandma shirt. The simple answer is, we don’t. It’s not our holiday. Our fall/winter holidays are Rosh Hashana, our new year, Yom Kippur, our day of World’s Greatest Tutu American Grandma shirt , Sukkot, a harvest festival and Chanukah, the Festival of Lights. Our holidays always begin from sundown to sunset so the first day of the holiday doesn’t begin until sunset. This year, 2016, the first day of Chanukah will fall on Christmas Eve and end at sunset on January 1st. Interesting tidbit: Christmas and Hanukkah have fallen on the same day only 4 times in the past 100 years.
