Working Hard or Hardly Working art shirt
In the 1700s Dutch immigrants brought their Sinterklaas tradition to New York in America where the Working Hard or Hardly Working art shirt acquired an Anglicized version, Santa Claus, who became part of the Christmas celebrations of Americans. One source claim the New Yorkers helped promote the Dutch colonyβs tradition, and officially acknowledged St. Nicholas or Santa Claus as the patron saint of the city in 1804. Five years later, the popular author, Washington Irving, published the satirical material where he made several references to a jolly St. Nicholas character, portrayed not as a saint, but as a wealthy elf-like Dutch New York resident smoking a clay pipe. Irvingβs St. Nicholas character received a big boost in 1823 from a poem Working Hard or Hardly Working art shirtd, βA Visit from St. Nicholasβ (a.k.a. βThe Night Before Christmasβ). It is said the poem described βa jolly, heavy man who comes down the chimney to leave presents for deserving children and drives a sleigh pulled by flying reindeer.β
To determine whether a creature or group of creatures flees, make a DC 10 Wisdom saving throw for the creature or the Working Hard or Hardly Working art shirt. If the opposition is overwhelming, the saving throw is made with disadvantage, or you can decide that the save fails automatically. If a groupβs leader canβt make the saving throw for whatever reason, have the creature in the group with the next highest Charisma score make the saving throw instead. On a failed save, the affected creature or group flees by the most expeditious route. If escape is impossible, the creature or group surrenders. If a creature or group that surrenders is attacked by its conquerors, the battle might resume, and itβs unlikely that further attempts to flee or surrender will be made. A failed saving throw isnβt always to the adventurersβ benefit. For example, an ogre that flees from combat might put the rest of the dungeon on alert or run off with treasure that the characters had hoped to plunder.

Once all the Working Hard or Hardly Working art shirt room goons are dealt with (they never actually got to leave their little room, the agent just kept tossing grenades in), the Lady announces that itβs time to introduce them to the clubβs head bouncer, βM.C. Hatchbuster.β For those familiar with the module this is the character Vrokilayo Hatchbuster, a Vesk (think big-ass lizard man) Soldier, the right-hand man of the gangβs leader. He comes out dancing to βGangnam Style,β wearing ridiculous shades (they protect him from the Ladyβs illusions), accompanied by about six illusory copies of himself generated by the DJ.
βNight of the Meekβ is Christmas Eve. Henry Corwin, a down-and-out ne’er-do-well, dressed in a Working Hard or Hardly Working art shirt, worn-out Santa Claus suit, has just spent his last few dollars on a sandwich and six drinks at the neighborhood bar. While Bruce, the bartender, is on the phone, he sees Corwin reaching for the bottle; Bruce throws him out. Corwin arrives for his seasonal job as a department store Santa, an hour late and obviously drunk. When customers complain, Dundee, the manager, fires him and orders him off the premises. Corwin says that he drinks because he lives in a “dirty rooming house on a street filled with hungry kids and shabby people” for whom he is incapable of fulfilling his desired role as Santa. He declares that if he had just one wish granted him on Christmas Eve, he’d “like to see the meek inherit the earth”. Still in his outfit, he returns to the bar but is refused re-entry by Bruce. Stumbling into an alley, he hears sleigh bells. A cat knocks down a large burlap bag full of empty cans; but when he trips over it, it is now filled with gift-wrapped packages. As he starts giving them away, he realizes that the bag is somehow producing any item that is asked for. Overjoyed at his sudden ability to fulfill dreams, Corwin proceeds to hand out presents to passing children and then to derelict men attending Christmas Eve service at Sister Florence’s “Delancey Street Mission House”. Irritated by the disruption and outraged by Corwin’s offer of a new dress, Sister Florence hurries outside to fetch Officer Flaherty, who arrests Corwin for stealing the presents from his former place of employment. At the police station, Dundee reaches into the garbage bag to display some of the purportedly stolen goods, but instead finds the empty cans and the cat.
