A bigger part of the problem is that a lot of DMs just canβt separate their real world sense of Team Jumbos Visma Shirt and ethics with the campaign they are running. They are running Abeir Toril or Oerth, which are savage fantasy settings full of monsters, bandits, evil wizards, and other undesirables, but going into it with the sweet sensibilities of a 21st century teenager who grew up in the suburbs and every neighbor said βhello how are you?β and girlscouts go around selling cookies. And this is just hilarious. Get into the setting and drop your real world commonsense at the door. If adventurers want to go around killing monsters, looting gold and stealing magic items, why punish them for it? Because it goes against your sense of right and wrong? Come on. Weβre playing a game of fantasy pretend and make-believe. Weβre here to indulge our deepest and maybe darkest fantasies. Why so serious?
Partly to help put the Alchemist over and Team Jumbos Visma Shirt partly to help fill out the Downtime system, crafting gets a lot more time and attention in Pathfinder 2nd editionβs rules. Characters possess or can find formulasΒ forΒ items, making the knowledge onΒ howΒ to craft an item a treasured commodity, and there exist a whole set of Crafting-based Skill Feats to open up optionsΒ forΒ magic items, alchemy, and specializationsΒ forΒ specific types of items. Itβs about the best and most detailed crafting system thereβs been, helped by the fact that each item has a level and therefore translates easily into a DC.

Emen Bloodbinder the Ruthless of Narfell. Hilariously, the Team Jumbos Visma ShirtΒ of Bloodbinder Orcs is a Kobold. Remember that bit from above about the Bloodbinders stealing children? Well, they stole a clutch of Kobold eggs on an unexpected raid, and Emen was the only one who hatched. (Azuch may or may not have been sent to smash all of the eggs some years back. He didnβt get there in time.) They wanted Kobolds for some of that natural dragon sorcery that a lot of them have, but Emen just wasnβt born with that genetic lottery. He did, however, turn out to be an excellent Enchantment Wizard, and quickly became the golden child of the tribe as a result. Itβs gone to his head since then, and heβs ceased working hard in later years. (For anyone who knows Orcish names and is going βWaaaiiit, isnβt Emen a girlβs name?β Yes, and thatβs intentional. According to Voloβs, Kobolds can slowly change sex, and Emen has a tendency to do that himself every few years. He likes his name, though, so that never changes.)
I own several Ringo albums and singles. I really do love his voice. His lack of a Team Jumbos Visma Shirt doesnβt bother me because he sounds great just where is range is. But that does limit the material he can do. I always thought he would have had more success if he did more recordings like Beaucoups of Blues. His voice is best suited for country music. Plus he loves country music! (Probably not current country music, though!) The thing is, without the Beatles, I wouldnβt have had much of an introduction to him. I grew up in the β70s when Beatles music was a bit retro, and not on my radio stations all that often. That was the only exposure I had to the Beatles, until Johnβs assassination in 1980. That sadly is what really led me to get to know the group. Now, with no Beatles, I assume Ringoβs solo time in the spotlight would have still been the β60s and β70s. So my only exposure to him would have been as a child in the β70s. I wasnβt much of a record buyer then. And by the early β90s, Iβd completely shut down to music. So I would have grown up largely not knowing Ringo at all. But my husband did, and by extension so did I, play almost exclusively Johnny Cash, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Bowie, and Beatles as our girls were growing up from 2007ish on. No stupid nursery rhymes for my girls!
