This is especially true if the thing has an odd smell or no smell. So if your dog is barking at what seems to be nothing, he might actually barking at the same thing you see. He just can’t quite make it out from where he’s standing. This is an unlikely cause of senseless barking at home, but it could be the reason your dog is barking outside, especially if he’s on a leash and can’t explore.
