Once upon a Run Josh Hawley Run Funny Meme shirt , there was a mom who’d never heard of this elf business, but had moved to CA from ND and had two, nearly three, kids, one of whom was a very precocious three year old. This mom had a mom, we’ll call her grandma, who had an Elf. Grandma gave the mom a rudimentary breakdown of the “Elf” game, and then gave a much more elaborate breakdown of it to the precocious three year old and his one year old brother. And so, the Elf game was begun. The rules in this household (as understood by the mom) were basically that the Elf would arrive on December 1. He’d hide somewhere in the house, watch the children all day, and report back to Santa each night, arriving again before the children awoke, hiding in a new spot, and waiting another day. On December 24, the elf would go home with Santa in his sleigh, his duty done til next year. The Elf wouldn’t be touched, or he’d turn into a doll again and no “extra special Elf gift” would be waiting with Santa’s gift that year. The children (the three year old) named their elf “Holly Jolly.” The game began and was easy, as the family lived with Grandma and Grandpa, who had a very large, very nice house with *very* high ceilings (and therefore lots of high hiding places for the elf, far from reach).
Mechanical advantage: Spellcaster simplicity. A warlock is a spellcaster but they are also in play the Run Josh Hawley Run Funny Meme shirt spellcaster in the game. Tracking spell slots? What’s that. You get two that refresh at every short rest. Spell levels? What are they? Your spells level up when you level up. Sure this might take a few minutes every few sessions – but it’s nowhere near as obnoxious as spending time in play while other people are waiting for you. Overlong spell lists to faff with? 1+level isn’t that long. Spell preparation? Nope. None of that round here either. You get almost all the fun part of spellcasting (the ability to cast spells) with very little of the faff that goes with it and all in a package that’s pretty newbie friendly.

When we start hitting Adult Dragons, though, it’s a problem. Most PCs can’t keep up with the Run Josh Hawley Run Funny Meme shirt at all. Dragons can fly 80′ on their turn, then on the PC’s turn use a Legendary Action to move another 40′. A PC must be able to fly and cover 120′ in a turn to even keep up with the dragon and attack it, meaning melee is not going to be very helpful. Archers are what are effective. And this is before Dragon Fear — any characters with bad Wisdom Saves are not even gonna be able to move closer to the dragon. A Fighter *might* be able to solo an adult dragon, if he’s level 11 and geared to the gills and prepped properly. They might be able to burst it down in a round or three, and can survive a couple of rounds of Legendary actions and breath. Probably. Higher level makes it easier, and a level 20 fighter can probably easily dispatch an adult dragon in one round, which is important because if he doesn’t catch the dragon in 1 round it could just kite him flying around waiting for his breath to recharge. Fighter would need to be decked out with flying gear — an Eagle Whistle would help catch up to the flying dragon and shoot it down.
I was hoping Delores wouldn’t become a Run Josh Hawley Run Funny Meme shirt aggressive rooster, as my recently deceased “Lance” had been, before passing on to “rooster heaven” with the assistance of a local coyote. The rooster I currently had, Gordon, was a sweet boy and was very happy to have Lance gone. Lance had been a fierce rooster who attacked literally every moving thing but the hens and me (displaying extreme good taste and discretion) and I was not prepared to live through as second several years of yet another “attack rooster”. Neither were the neighbor dogs. Nor were the neighbors, for that matter. I really didn’t think this would be a problem, as Delores was such a sweet rooster – showing no violence or aggression at all, and just wanted to sit on my shoulder (rather like a parrot) and look around. He’d snuggle against anyone’s neck or in anyone’s lap who would hold him and he adored being petted. Delores ran around digging for bugs in the lawn – but was just as happy sitting by the kitchen sink watching me trim vegetables or whatever. He made (as all my chickens did) a truce with the cats and was friends with the goats, horses and my other rooster, Gordon. They all slept together in the barn at night.
