Prep is important but you don’t need to put that much time and effort into it. Improvisation is the QBU Football Skeleton funny T shirt skill of a good DM. He’ll never admit it, but he’s a bit happier for it.

I was just starting to build my flock of chickens from the four I already had (one rooster, three hens) to a QBU Football Skeleton funny T shirt of ten. However, denial is a powerful characteristic, and I tried to convince myself that Delores really WAS a hen and maybe she was just big boned.
