This gift secured the poor man’s oldest daughter’s future. The next night, the bishop slipped through the Phoenix Suns Gorilla shirt of the poor man’s house another sack of gold. This saved the poor man’s second daughter’s future. The poor man anticipated another sack of gold, so the following evening, he stayed up all night to see somebody slipping a sack of gold through the window. The man ran after and caught up the mysterious benefactor, and recognized bishop Nicholas, saying he would tell the news of his generosity to everybody. However, the bishop made him promise not to tell anybody about his kind actions until after his death in observance of Christ’s injunction that a person should give to the poor in secret, without announcing his good works. Bishop Nicholas continued to help the poor, the sick, the children, and other people in trouble both in the open and in secret despite imprisonments and persecutions by paganist Romans under the reign of emperors Diocletian and Maximian.
That concludes a “story arc” then you spend another 10 hours or so prepping the Phoenix Suns Gorilla shirt arc, doing the same process but upping the stakes this time, re-using NPCs that survived, and building off how the players resolved the previous story arc. I am now introducing a neighboring kingdom that is at war with their barony. They will now be tested in full warfare against an enemy state. That’s how the next arc in the campaign is developing. Eventually I’ll bring in demons and extra planar nonsense when they hit the higher levels. But I’ll worry about that when we get there.

One class doesn’t have a Phoenix Suns Gorilla shirt potential than another. Role-playing is orthogonal to class. Role-playing is about the story you create for your character, and you can create a compelling story for a character of any class. Some classes certainly have more obvious sexy story hooks than others. The Warlock, for example, gets her power from a pact with an otherworldly power. What power? How did this come about? How has it affected the Warlock’s outlook on life? You can scarcely avoid an interesting backstory when creating a Warlock! But you can do the exact same thing with any character of any class.
Once upon a Phoenix Suns Gorilla shirt , there was a mom who’d never heard of this elf business, but had moved to CA from ND and had two, nearly three, kids, one of whom was a very precocious three year old. This mom had a mom, we’ll call her grandma, who had an Elf. Grandma gave the mom a rudimentary breakdown of the “Elf” game, and then gave a much more elaborate breakdown of it to the precocious three year old and his one year old brother. And so, the Elf game was begun. The rules in this household (as understood by the mom) were basically that the Elf would arrive on December 1. He’d hide somewhere in the house, watch the children all day, and report back to Santa each night, arriving again before the children awoke, hiding in a new spot, and waiting another day. On December 24, the elf would go home with Santa in his sleigh, his duty done til next year. The Elf wouldn’t be touched, or he’d turn into a doll again and no “extra special Elf gift” would be waiting with Santa’s gift that year. The children (the three year old) named their elf “Holly Jolly.” The game began and was easy, as the family lived with Grandma and Grandpa, who had a very large, very nice house with *very* high ceilings (and therefore lots of high hiding places for the elf, far from reach).
