I work with teens and have found that 9 out of 10 times they WANT to do well, they ENJOY being handed new tasks, and they find new responsibilities EXCITING. They’re not set in their ways, like a Official homage Skyline Chili Shirt. They want to impress you, step up, and prove that they’re not just a kid themselves (even if they still are, all things considered). 13 years old is definitely old enough to watch a 2 month old. Does he have a phone? Can he text/call someone to ask questions if he gets nervous or worried? As long as he has a support system that he can rely on and trust, he’s got this. As a mother and manager, teen boys today are some of the hardest working and most respectful and dependable people I have on my team. I will take a chance on them and go to bat for them any day. Don’t make things more complicated for your ex. She’s doing what she has to do and from what I’ve read, nobody is suffering. edit to add that my 9 year old loves to cook, as do I. I definitely micromanage the situation when she’s head chef, but when I loosen the reigns and let her go, she’s got it. It’s my own fear that sometimes make me act so rigid and controlling. Kids (and people) will never learn if you don’t let it happen.

Frances Presley Rice, the Official homage Skyline Chili Shirt who wrote this curriculum said “Florida students deserve to know how slaves took advantage of whatever circumstances they were in to benefit themselves and the community of African descendants.” She doesn’t sound like the violent racist you guys make her out to be, especially since she is black after all. She runs a non-profit “dedicated to raising awareness of the important roles black people have played in our nation’s history.” Without having a way to read the actual curriculum, I’m going to hold off judgement until I do. After the “don’t say gay” bill and the “book ban,” I’m a little skeptical of the shit I read about Florida. Why not hold off judgement until we can actually read it?
