We finished around 15 sessions before we finished that story arc. Not bad. Some DMs spend like 5 hours or more prepping for each session. Over 15 sessions that adds up to a Johnny Bucyk Detroit Red Wings Tones signature shirt . I spend a fraction of that time and itβs because I work smart, not hard. This allows for a great deal of flexibility and dynamism in your game, while reducing prep time significantly from the method a lot of DMs seem to use, which is to painstakingly craft each encounter and run it almost as if on rails. It does require a lot of quick-thinking on your part as a DM, but it allows you to respond to the crazy things your players think up of doing on the fly, making the game and narrative much more exciting.

The PCs are allowed cordially into the club, with a statement that theyβre on the VIP list. Nervously, but graciously, they accept the Johnny Bucyk Detroit Red Wings Tones signature shirt and walk on in. They get their first round of drinks on the house, and the DJ, Lady Alushinyrra, makes a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT to the club, asking the whole crowd to welcome tonightβs Starfinders to the Neon Queen. With the crowd to act as cover and a ludicrous amount of noise booming through the club, itβs practically perfect cover to stealthfully remove the PCs. The family has moved into their own home now, an older home (still nice, but no high ceilings and not many elf hiding places!), and the children have both multiplied AND grown older, taller, and Johnny Bucyk Detroit Red Wings Tones signature shirt. The Elf game is now the bane of the mom’s existence. Hiding it is a task. Several times this year, the Elf hasn’t had to go back to Santa because the kids were SO good the day before, thus explaining why he remained in the exact same hiding spot as the previous day. One evening, the mom is flustered. She finally hands the Elf to the dad and says,Β you hide the #%)(#^# elf today, but hide it high, because Big M is testing the waters and going to touch the #%(^#^ thing.” Dad’s answer is less than ideal – not only is the perch precarious, but it’s easily within reach of at least the oldest child, if not the second oldest as well. And it’s possible the elf is also judging the thermostat temp, which is an ongoing passive aggressive battle between mom (who sits at home and freezes all day) and dad (who pays the bills, but also works in his nice warm office all day).
