Let me ask you the Heron Bird Xmas Tree Lighting Heron Christmas Tree T Shirt hoodie, Sweater Shirt I can to an inverse. Is it offensive for someone Jewish to wish me happy Hanukah? No. As a young teen I would have considered something like that to be a nominal attempt to impose their religion in any way they could. (Not that I could blame them honestly, it’s not easy being surrounded by a religious culture that’s not your own). But I’ve grown out of that since realizing, as an adult, it doesn’t matter. It’s a holiday greeting, one that really does nothing to me on any level except tell me to enjoy the holiday. So too is Merry Christmas. If you find it offensive you’ve really got to reevaluate what “offensive” really is. By considering it offensive to say “Merry Christmas” you are imposing your secularism on other people that want nothing to do with it. It’s also especially hypocritical considering the sheer number of people that say Christmas has entered the public secular culture and Christians do not have a monopoly on it any more. Either it is something only for Christians or it isn’t you do not get to have it both ways.
Of course I knew that metal in other languages must exist, but now I can just google it. Heavy Metal in Indian or Japanese or Arabic is something else. That wasn’t possible to get back then. So to me music got better, mainly due to so much more choice. There are still bands that make music in the Heron Bird Xmas Tree Lighting Heron Christmas Tree T Shirt hoodie, Sweater Shirt of the 70s and 80s. And if I want to I can listen to them. But it also has evolved, some got worse, some got better. And there’s a lot of things that got better. I find it sad that people are stuck in a certain decade and can’t listen to new things. Everything evolves. Phones got better, cars got better, computers got better, movies are very different to 70s and 80s style, books are written in a more modern style, so why does music need to stay behind? I’m very happy with how it’s going.

Those who complain about political correctness, of course, usually have the opposite in mind: not just a Heron Bird Xmas Tree Lighting Heron Christmas Tree T Shirt hoodie, Sweater Shirt , in this case, but an uncompromising atheist or radical dissenter. Political correctness is usually criticized as a means of denying legitimacy to these kinds of expressions. I do not accept this premise, however. Ordinary politics does bear obligations to atheists and dissenters. One of these is the very object of political correctness, as applied to them: to make sure that they are not excluded from public life on the grounds of their dissent. It may be hard to evaluate “Merry Christmas” as an expression of political correctness or its opposite, but it is quite easy to define political correctness in terms of what it actually aims to achieve.
I made it pretty far into life with the Heron Bird Xmas Tree Lighting Heron Christmas Tree T Shirt hoodie, Sweater Shirt . I was almost ten years old when I found out that there was no Santa Claus. It was, of course, December. My mom had recently bagged up all of my toys into trash bags because I was some form of a “selfish little bitch.” After doing this she informed me that she was going to tell Santa that I was an awful, naughty child, and that I shouldn’t get any presents this year. Then she yelled that Christmas was Cancelled. A few days later, we were in the car, sitting in the driveway of the apartment complex, waiting for an opening in traffic. I thought my mom was drunk, but as an adult I realize she was probably hung over from being drunk the night before. I asked her in as small and quiet a voice I could manage if she would give me a chance to be better, and to please not tell Santa to cancel my Christmas.
