Friends Shirt, Classic Christmas Characters, Gift For Family
Maybe saying this scene “broke” me is a bit of a Friends Shirt, Classic Christmas Characters, Gift For Family retch, but it always struck me as so unfair. Through flashbacks, CoS tells of Hagrid’s story. Poor young 14 year old Hagrid was already an orphan with nowhere to really go other than Hogwarts. And Riddle accuses him of killing a girl! I don’t hear many people discussing that fact. More emphasis is always put on how his wand was snapped in half and he was expelled (two other great tragedies of the situation, true). But that’s not the saddest part really. He had to deal with the weight of having the whole wizarding world thinking he could have been responsible for someone’s death! Now, he knew he never let Aragog out of his box, and that Aragog didn’t open any stupid secret chamber. But, I’m sure you can imagine that being accused of murder at 14 years old, whether you knew you did it or not, is life altering! And then, like I said, his wand was snapped and he was expelled from the one place he had to call home. So, maybe this scene should break me and more fans. Hagrid’s story ends happily enough, but wasn’t always that way.
Prep is important but you don’t need to put that much time and effort into it. Improvisation is the Friends Shirt, Classic Christmas Characters, Gift For Family skill of a good DM. The better you can run with whatever is happening, the better you’ll be as a DM. If you just wanted an on-the-rails campaign following a script closely, it’s better to play a video game instead. CRPGs are good at that (better than we can for sure). When people sitdown for tabletop RPG the improvisation and dynamic reactions is what they’re coming for. It’s what sets this hobby apart from video games, so make the best out of the medium by learning this skill and making your campaigns truly dynamic.

The Rogue want’s to look for a anything she can use to pick a lock. Well, there wasn’t anything there to begin with, but she rolled a 20! Turns out some previous prisoner left a Friends Shirt, Classic Christmas Characters, Gift For Family set of prison-made lockpicks. They didn’t exist until the Rogue went looking. So she picks the lock…and rolls a 1. Not only do the picks break, but the guards are alerted and now they’ve stripped the party down to their underwear, because obviously the picks were smuggled in. At their wits end, and convinced they’re going to die, the Cleric prays to his god for the souls of his fellows. Now, it’s down to the wire, and damnit, I really don’t want to hang them. So suddenly one of the guards is a follower of the same god as the Cleric. And in this town, they’re not too fond of the God of Tits and Wine. Realizing the Cleric is church brother, the guard enters the cell, informs the Cleric that GTW is pretty frowned upon hereabouts, and if they’d like to keep their heads firmly attached to their shoulders, he should keep quiet about it. Then, when he leaves the cell, have him remark that he needs to make sure the cell is definitely, absolutely, locked, and that he musn’t forget like last time.
Once upon a Friends Shirt, Classic Christmas Characters, Gift For Family , there was a mom who’d never heard of this elf business, but had moved to CA from ND and had two, nearly three, kids, one of whom was a very precocious three year old. This mom had a mom, we’ll call her grandma, who had an Elf. Grandma gave the mom a rudimentary breakdown of the “Elf” game, and then gave a much more elaborate breakdown of it to the precocious three year old and his one year old brother. And so, the Elf game was begun. The rules in this household (as understood by the mom) were basically that the Elf would arrive on December 1. He’d hide somewhere in the house, watch the children all day, and report back to Santa each night, arriving again before the children awoke, hiding in a new spot, and waiting another day. On December 24, the elf would go home with Santa in his sleigh, his duty done til next year. The Elf wouldn’t be touched, or he’d turn into a doll again and no “extra special Elf gift” would be waiting with Santa’s gift that year. The children (the three year old) named their elf “Holly Jolly.” The game began and was easy, as the family lived with Grandma and Grandpa, who had a very large, very nice house with *very* high ceilings (and therefore lots of high hiding places for the elf, far from reach).
