Well, not me personally. But my first ever serious boyfriend I had right after highschool, he used to leave hickey’s on me, lots of Easy Peasy Tee Fore Play T Shirts. I thought it was cute and sensual and passionate, but my mom didn’t see it that way lol. His first christmas gift from my mom was a dog bone . . . A legit Dog bone, from a cow. So he would chew on that instead of me, is what my mom put on his card. That was the weirdest gift I’ve ever seen anyone give. The weirdest gift I’ve personally ever gotten, was from my Grandma on my fathers side. It was the first Christmas without my grandfather, he’d passed of cancer the year before and my grandmothers dementia started setting in. She handed me my gift, which . . .wasn’t wrapped, which was already odd. because she used to wrap everything, even dish towels. It was black, and my entire family watched as I unfolded the ‘Robbers mask’ face mask hat. The black one, that they use in movies to indicate bank robbers and villains. . . My uncle laughed so hard, and asked me to put it on so he could take a photo. They all knew Grandma was losing it from there. She said she cared about my face being cold, and I genuinely believe that. But I wasn’t sure if I could ever wear it in public after that.
Of course Christmas is the modernised, somewhat Christianised, version of a Easy Peasy Tee Fore Play T Shirts of festivals, most notably Saturnalia. Even though atheists generally don’t believe in the god Saturn, I don’t think it is immoral to accept, or give, Christmas gifts. There are so many parts of Christmas tradition that come from other traditions: the Three Wise Men comes from Roman Catholic tradition (the Bible doesn’t name them nor say that there were three). The Mistletoe I think comes from Norse and Celtic traditions. The tree comes from all sorts of pagan traditions but probably mainly Celtic traditons. Gift giving is a modern consumerist ritual – fueled by department stores, who also gave us Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Santa Claus has roots in Russian Christianity but of course mainly was invented by US department stores, which is why he has the colours of Coca-Cola. So there’s not that much pure Saturnalia in Christmas today. There’s a mix of all sorts of ancient traditions. Even a bit of Christianity, funnily enough. Most atheists do indeed believe in consumerism to some degree. Even if they’re socialist heretics, they probably still think that buying stuff can be nice sometimes. So there’s nothing wrong with giving people presents, if it makes them happy.

The Christmas before Lily and James died, Petunia had sent them a Easy Peasy Tee Fore Play T Shirts , into their little hidden house with their crawling son and their loyal, frightened, not-so-loyal friends. Petunia still hated her sister, flighty, fierce, beautiful Lily, who loved too hard and forgave to easy. Petunia hated the way she had always felt faded in her sister’s light and she hated the way it had killed her. This was hatred. This was love; it was something else entirely. This was a girl who was told she was not pretty, not brilliant, not magic; a girl who listened and decided that, alright then, that would have to be enough. That would have to be more than enough. That would have to be better, to be normal, to be plain and horse-toothed and to have too much neck. Her sister had left her for brighter shores and, fine then, Petunia didn’t want to follow anyway. That lived like a canker under her tongue all her life. When the little Evans family got back to their apartment with Harry’s crumpled letter in his tiny hand and Dudley’s bigger ones empty, Petunia sat them both down, in their kitchen with its weird stain on one wall and the weird musty smell, and told them they were not allowed to hate each other.
Those are pretty significant costs, yes? But on the Easy Peasy Tee Fore Play T Shirts, alcohol gives people pleasure, relief from pain, and relaxation; it acts as an aid to confidence and in seeking companionship and socialization; and it simply tastes good to a lot of people. Drinking alcohol at some point in one’s life also gives one insight into interacting with those who drink and allows one to enjoy their company without the nasty judgemental feelings that lifelong strict abstainers so often seem to have. On average I’d say the “costs” might be greater… but I’d still recommend that folks try drinking: while the average benefits may not outweigh the costs, I’d say that on the individual level the benefits often do. Remember: staying indoors and living in your basement is pretty safe (unless you live in a radon area), but it’s also pretty dull.
