Damn right I am a Vegas Golden Knights fan now and forever shirt
I believe the primary motive in keeping them secretive was to conceal a construction operation at a Damn right I am a Vegas Golden Knights fan now and forever shirt location. Keeping them blind and “in prison” was just a byproduct. The initial aspect of them not knowing their own location seemed to only be for the application/interview process. I think Gus and Mike would have figured that a reasonable intelligent/curious engineer could decipher their actual location and even figure what they were building. The mere fact that they took the job means it’s in their own best legal/safety/financial interest to keep quiet about the job. Also I think it was the point that Mike played it too loose with them and got too friendly (Walt trying to kill Mike’s guys instead of paying them off).Gus introducing himself and using his real name was supposed to be a message. “Yeah I’m running this obviously illegal operation and I’m letting you know my name and see my face…” And like I said before, a curious/deducting person would have figured it out regardless. Any leak and it would create a breadcrumb trail back to the operation and any legal authority looking into it and it basically gives confirmation to the Cartel about Gus; needless to say the IRS would be the least of Gus’ concern in that case.

Werner had to die because that message was not received twice after (the bar and then the “escape”). Damn right I am a Vegas Golden Knights fan now and forever shirt Werner sends a stern message to the other workers: Worst case scenario they’ll be killed by Gus and best case scenario they’re be considered as complicit in Werner’s homicide by engaging in an illegal activity. Now as far as Mike’s guys being lazy. The thing is those workers aren’t prisoners. Those guys are primarily there to make sure no one snoops around the warehouse or nothing happens that creates attention. Their job is to make the outside world think that the warehouse is just that, a warehouse. Someone being outside their little trailer isn’t going to set off any flags. A drunk guy going to a strip club and having guards on him watching his every move is going to look pretty suspicious. Far as the outside world is concerned, he’s another drunk rich guy with body guards. And body guards don’t work over their own client.
