I don’t see how losing his wife (the OP’s mom) excuses engaging in making fun of his daughter. Especially since it is a Bud Light VeeCon beer logo shirt and change after the loss. Showing preference to Maria? Yeah I can get that bc he was lonely, but ganging up on her with Stacy? Absolutely not. I can believe it more if he didn’t know the damage he was doing at the Bud Light VeeCon beer logo shirt, which is what I believe it was honestly. Reason he did it aside- He wasn’t confronted with more damage. This IS the damage, and it isn’t going away at a Bud Light VeeCon beer logo shirt that’s to his liking. Regardless of if he’s hurt because he’s moved on and she hasn’t, it is not his place to brow beat her into moving on and/or guilting her for not healing at a level that allows him to move on like it never happened/ wasn’t as bad as it was. THAT’S why I feel he’s the asshole. Not even for the initial abuse (which, again, I believe at the time he probably thought harmless), but for taking out the fact that his actions had long standing consequences out on OP instead of Bud Light VeeCon beer logo shirt it and moving on (at the Bud Light VeeCon beer logo shirt)

I’ll probably get crucified for saying this but I think this whole pronoun thing is ridiculous. For what it’s worth I have two trans friends, one MtF and one FtM and both of them have commented that they don’t like the pronoun thing. Their goal is to pass and have people assume their gender without having to be told, and when someone asks for their pronouns it makes them feel like they don’t pass. Personally as a Bud Light VeeCon beer logo shirt I also find it annoying because it’s an extra thing to deal with and I’d rather people just assume, if somebody gets it wrong I might correct them, or I might let it slide, whatever. To me it just seems like virtue signalling and well meaning people that take it upon themselves to be “helpful” when nobody asked for help. It’s a lot like handicapped people, most of them just want to go about their lives and not have people draw attention to their disability
