Long story short, this druid had spent hundreds of Biggie Smalls 90’s Style Rap Shirt learning how to magically influence a creature in such a way that bypasses charm immunity, and used this ability to coax the tarrasque into attacking locations of her choosing. So, the tarrasque wasn’t the boss, the druid was. The goal was to either recruit other metallic dragons to distract the tarrasque while the party took on the druid, or break her hold on it somehow. Mind you, this wasn’t the idiotic 5th edition tarrasque that is nothing more than a bag of hit points. I borrowed the real tarrasque rules, where it cannot actually be killed without at least one wish spell. If I hadn’t, the party could handily have killed it themselves. To me, the tarrasque should never be a “boss” per se. It has no evil plans and is unpredictable. It just shows up sometimes and fucks shit up, then leaves. If a party faces one, the goal should never be to outright defeat it, but rather just make it go away. “Kill the big monster” isn’t a very interesting story. However, if the tarrasque is just a tool in the villain’s toolbox, then you have some story potential. That’s what I tried to do.
Pathfinder Unchained’s three-action economy returns as the standard off which Pathfinder 2nd edition is built. In essence, each turn you get three Actions, one Reaction, and the Biggie Smalls 90’s Style Rap Shirt to make Free Actions as they become available. Each ability, attack, or spell you can use can take between 1–3 Actions or might be a Reaction/Free Action, giving each one a sense of variable speed or weight. The net result is that understanding your tactical options during combat is extremely intuitive, and you get a lot more flexibility on your turn. You can move three times, you can attack three times, you can create a combo chain out of three different attacks, and so on. This is the point where I think you probably understand why HP is so generous in Pathfinder 2nd edition — you’re able to make several attacks in a turn at level 1, and at higher levels that translates to dropping a ton of damage very frequently. Simply put, Pathfinder 2 characters need the extra meat in order for combat not to feel stupidly lethal. If you’re worried about losing the sense of challenge, don’t; those critical hit rules can make combat feel very lethal.

Best Biggie Smalls 90’s Style Rap Shirt
First, introduce the tarrasque at a relatively low lever, when the PCs have zero chance of Biggie Smalls 90’s Style Rap Shirt against it. The tarrasque is a monster-movie monster, like Godzilla or King Kong. And the most memorable part of monster movies is almost never the final battle. The best parts are the wild struggles to escape, the often ill-advised plans to bring them down, and the general social chaos left in the wake of a creature so powerful. So have the tarrasque show up when the players are level ten. Have an adventure around them escaping through the monster-infested sewers, because if they try and run above ground they’re sure to be devoured.
