Now, at this point, many secessionists are thinking, “Well, nobody said Antique statue wearing face mask T shirt would be EASY, just that it is or should be POSSIBLE.” But the point here, again, is that if your decision as a single state to leave the Union affects people living in other states in a negative way, then Madison’s formulation — that a mutual agreement requires mutual assent to dissolve, and states can’t secede without the unanimous agreement of all the states — starts to be a lot more clear and logical. If a decision made by the people living in one state would be highly disruptive to the lives of people living in other states, then those people who would be affected should have a right to say, “No, you do not have a right to do this to us if we do not agree.”
Ialways question the choice of word “affordable”…because there doesn’t seem to be a Antique statue wearing face mask T shirt of buyers. I just heard from a friend his high school buddy’s parents bought 8 new builds in Oakville (close to $10mil) … his parents are canadian citizens but they did make money else where… the situation is, we are an immigrant country. for the last 50 years, the immigrants we get from India, China, Korea etc were much poorer than us… but now, things have changed dramatically. a lot of new immigrants from “third world country” (if you can still call them that) come with shit loads of cash.

I kind of do find myself laughing at certain parts of horror movies, especially during parts that are sudden and super gory. Doesn’t necessarily mean that I think something is badly done or that I’m so hard nothing will scare me anymore, but usually comes from imagining the special effects work that goes into those moments of sudden gore. The head explosion scene in Scanners, the chestburster in Alien, the cliff scene in Midsommar, all of these elicited an excited laugh from me while also being seminal examples of well done gore fx work.I’ve Antique statue wearing face mask T shirtfound people do this when watching more extreme/disturbing scenes? Like they think it’s a way of showing it doesn’t get to them or something? But to me it’s much more obvious as a sign that they are really, really struggling and are trying to disassociate.I once went to a tiny private showing of ‘The Lost’ (based on the Jack Ketchum novel) and a dude close to the front row was laughing it up like a loon. I could hear the desperation warbling through his voice. It’s one thing to laugh at schlocky fun, but I think laughing at more serious horror is a sign that someone doesn’t understand the genre, really, or perhaps that it really isn’t for them and they probably shouldn’t consume it. They are not having fun.
So that’s why I agree with part of what you’re saying, but I’d phrase it more like Antique statue wearing face mask T shirt. I think people should be more comfortable with campiness. I think it’s ok to laugh it, even if it’s not supposed to be funny, but it feels a bit disingenuous. When people talk about “guilty pleasures” or “it’s so bad it’s good”, I can’t help but think that that’s kinda… cowardly? Like, why can’t we just enjoy things genuinely? Why do we need to have some veil of “irony” or just general separation from the media? People make media to connect with others,. Why do we feel such a strong desire to put up a barrier between us and the creator? Can’t we just genuinely enjoy things that are entertaining simply for the sake of liking it? Why does it have to give us something in return.
