Thrawn also knew about the coming Vong (naturally, Thrawn knows everything unless the plot needs him not to), and that’s why he decided to work for Palpatine

Thanks Jeremiah, interesting take. I would actually argue Thrawn is still a villain, in Game Of Thrawn Shirt a MORE dangerous villain when you consider what we now know about his backstory. He’s just “misunderstood” by the Imperials he works with. (Having said that, I actually prefer the original now de-canonized version of Thrawn, not sure if you’re in that same camp or not).
