There was definitely a way with my childrenβs father. We celebrated holidays and birthdays as we always had done, including inviting my ex mother-in-law. I think the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Christmas Sweatshirt Christmas Game Day Shirt was that there were enough people invited that it wasnβt just him, me, and the kids staring at each other. Weβre also a family not noted for our drama; my mom couldnβt tolerate drama! We still do holidays together sometimes, even though the kidsβ grandparents are all gone now, one child lives 1200 miles away, and another child has married and is always included with his in-lawsβ family. (My new spouse and I are always invited to the in-lawsβ gatherings as well; itβs a huge and friendly crowd!) My kids are in their mid-30s now, and theyβve learned to make holidays a cooperative effort as well, despite having some of the most complicated family structures you can imagine. The point is to make it about happy memories for the kids and not a time/place to rehash old wrongs.

No, I’m very comfortable with saying “Merry Christmas” to people. I’m atheist as well, and I celebrate Christmas. The vast majority of the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Christmas Sweatshirt Christmas Game Day Shirt of Christmas are secular, ranging from the general motive of exchanging gifts and spending time with your loved ones all the way to Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Christmas these days is about as secular as paying cash (In God We Trust), going to elementary school (saying the Pledge of Allegiance), or going to court (Ten Commandments in front of court houses): in other words, while it’s still a tiny bit religious and it does make me a bit uncomfortable, they are still for the vast majority secular and I still willingly participate in these activities.
