In grade six or seven we had to do a writing assignment which was to write a letter to someone. We had the DMX Forever Rap Hip Hop Shirt to actually send it or just submit it, I chose to write to Wayne Gretzky, during the LA Kings era. The letter was sent close to the end of the year and I quickly forgot obout it over the summer break. The first day back in the fall, in a new school building, I get called to the office. Upon arriving at the office I was handed an 8×10 white, hand addressed envelope, bearing the return address of the LA Kings. He had sent me a autographed 8×10. The man made my day and then some. He will always be the great one for me.In his final year of pee wee hockey (12 years old) he had 378 goals. 378. And 517 points in 85 games. That’s averaging 6 points PER GAME. And while his teammates were 12, he was 11. My kid didn’t have 6 points all season as a pee wee although it was probably 15 games (USA, not Canada).

As a Canadian, we’ve always been taught that hockey is Canada’s game but I found out recently that the filthy Russians think it’s their gameI found out there’s a Russian film called Legend No. DMX Forever Rap Hip Hop Shirt is one of the highest grossing Russian films of all-time where the USSR beats Canada in 1972 by a score of 7:3Can you believe the Russians? Thinking that they’re better at hockey than CanadaAll they needed to do to win was have some refs in their pocket, goal judges that flat out didn’t call goals, poor treatment of the Canadian teams family off the ice, and some attempts to interrupt and cut short practices. You know, good clean hockey. Not all one-sided. Remember Bobby Clarke (Canadian hockey legend) and his two-handed slash that cracked the ankle of Russian superstar Valeri Kharlamov in the sixth game of the 1972 Summit Hockey Series? Kharlamov was incredible, a scoring machine, and the Soviets might have won the series were he healthy. But Clarke hunted him down and took him out with a total cheap shot. So honours even, eh?
