Honestly yeah Canada kind of sucks. Everything is super expensive, it’s boring as fuck in most Pugs Bunny Happy Easter Puggy Pug Shirt because there’s nothing to do, jobs all suck, people are all crabby and hostile.Bro thank you. Toronto is lowkey boring if you’re not in the “pay to play” lifestyle of going to concerts/bars/restaurants, etc. And who can afford to when rent eats up everything. So you go to Goodlife and watch Netflix or the Raptors at home. Well, hey, I can do that anywhere….So much dissapointment. I saved up years for a condo, got it, and then immediately started to see house prices sky rocket, and even though I’m on the property ladder, it will be of no use as the appreciation will never be enough to get a home by the time I’m ready to, at least not in the GTA…. So like yea… what’s the point anymore?I don’t want to live in Toronto but my options seem to be keep my career here and rent for eternity or move back to Windsor and go work minimum wage again and live with my parents until I somehow can afford a place. Strongly considering moving out to the woods really far away and living off lichen and berries but even that’s probably illegal here.

I did everything I was supposed to do, STEM degree even though I’m Pugs Bunny Happy Easter Puggy Pug Shirt about the arts, living at home to save up for a downpayment, my parents helping to pay for undergrad, not buying anything pricey or going on vacations for years or even eating out, even getting a loan for a downpayment from my parents… only to just be getting by in a shoebox in North York which I would have to raise a family in someday?Like… nah, that’s not what I’m grinding for. That’s not life. You literally would have had to play a perfect hand to be a homeowner today in GTA. Something like both you and your partner working in tech with high salaries out of the gate from uni, advancing for years in that industry, to be able to afford a home… Sorry I picked the wrong kind of engineering I guess…I’m so done man 🙁 Sorry for venting as a reply to this comment in specific, but the GTA asks too much of its citizens for what it gives in return. I’m so exhausted from trying to find a place within it. And I don’t even get to see my friends anymore because they all have to hustle in their careers just to survive..I understand I’m not entitled to home ownership, but when its treated purely as an investment vehicle it makes rent prohibitively expensive to the point where I can’t even invest the difference to come out ahead in that way…
