Every time I see something like this people like to chime in that most of their work is done halfway through the Texas State Houston Basketball 2021 shirtbut what about the people who are in skilled labor positions? Those jobs would likely be shipped overseas and retail stores will likely be staffed by even less people…but all that aside by just simply bumping up minimum wage will do nothing but completely fuck up inflation. I understand that wage hasn’t matched productivity but the solution shouldn’t be to give a min wage hike but rather tax the goddamn rich like they did in the 1950’s, some companies pay a negative tax rate and in most cases if you make millions an hour you only get taxed in the single digits! If min wage is bumped that just signals that rent too could be bumped along with everything else. Min wage isn’t the solution proper tax distribution isEveryone couches a minimum wage in terms of Walmart and McDonalds workers … Wouldn’t a forced $15 minimum wage be the final nail in the coffin of local business that could never support an increase like that? You’d effectively hand complete control over to big-box retailers that could absorb the hit. And most likely, their reaction would be to downsize and automate, further increasing the unemployment rate.

What kills me is everybody seems to think that will make people Texas State Houston Basketball 2021 shirt more money. It won’t. Prices will rise in relation to the new salaries and in the end even $24.00 an hour won’t be worth much more than the minimum wage now.I have no problem with a higher minimum wage. However, I would like to remind people that there are starting companies that have great business models that would be snuffed out with wage systems targeted at large corporations. Walmart can figure out $15+/hr with a bit of money management. The small business I work for wouldn’t be able to stay afloat, let alone grow, with this in place. It’s absolutely true that larger corporations are actively trying to keep wages low, but private businesses will be crushed by too large of a wage. The large companies will absolutely win in this environment due to their standing financial ability.I grew up in an area that was very inexpensive. In my 20’s we got casinos. Things became very expensive very quickly. People started raising prices to compete with they had higher salaries of the casino workers. Apartment and house prices doubled, then tripled, and then quadrupled. It took many years for other businesses to even come close to matching the casino salaries.
