‘Which essentially will be free health care.’ We have free healthcare, I’m talking from within the UK where you do get free treatment to heart conditions etc, but not inhalers in England. Also the point I was making was how can anyone justify sanitary products without life saving medication. You can’t argue one without the other. If you’d argue neither then the Brown Sugar Diamond shirt doesn’t apply to you.

I feel like Brown Sugar Diamond shirt should protest and bleed all over the place until free period products are available everywhere. It’s absolutely ridiculous to expect to have to pay for it if you can’t.
I lived in the next to poorest state in my country growing up and my schools didn’t have any for free. I had to use wadded up tp which I not only would bleed through in one class and leave blood on the seat (which is a technically a biohazard) but sometimes the bloody wad of tp would fall out from my underwear and down my pant leg onto the floor (also technically a biohazard and extremely embarrassing). Often, I wouldn’t even realize it happened until it was too late because I was too busy being in pain and surviving a busy school day. Many a lost bloody wad was never to be found by me as it floated somewhere in the hallways for the poor janitor to find.
When I got older and had a steady job and a small apartment of my own, I still had to use wadded up tp because I couldn’t even afford to feed myself and pay all my bills, let alone pay for period products. Even worse, I worked in a restaurant and yes, a couple of times my bloody tissue wad ended up on the kitchen floor. I tried wrapping it around my underwear but shitty tp is shitty tp and it would break and fall out down my pant leg.
Period products are not comparable to condoms or deodorant, they are far more important and absolutely necessary not just for the woman who needs them but, for everyone around her so they don’t get exposed to her blood. And what if she has a bloodborne disease? Then it’s even more crucial for the public that she has access to the period products she needs
